Review
As with all the DVDs we have seen from Erotica X so far, this one features four unrelated videos, though there is a common theme here. As the title suggests, these scenes all focus on sex in the context of loving relationships.
And unlike the first DVD from Erotica X that we reviewed, this one is absolutely totally fucking fantastic. There are three amazing scenes here—and much of what makes them so are the short, but very effective, stories with which they begin.
We'll start with the one scene that isn't incredible: the third, with Kimber Day and Logan Pierce. The story revolves around his asking her to move in with him, and her excited reaction to his invitation, which leads to her inviting him to have sex with her. And the sex is passionate and convincing. The problem, for us, is that she ends up seeming somewhat frustrated. She seems on the verge of orgasm several times, but never quite seems to get there, and that left us feeling a bit frustrated ourselves. It's a weird problem to have, but we had it. And we had it again when we watched the scene a second time.
We admit that some will find the first scene a bit corny. The first few minutes feature Maddy O'Reilly and Tyler Nixon sharing a ride in a helicopter, which drops them on a hill where there just happens to have been a picnic laid out for them. As it turns out, it is all an elaborate preparation for a proposal, and we confess we did shed a tear when he dropped to his knees. But none of that would matter if the sex didn't live up to the intro—and, much to our delight, it totally does. The chemistry between them is wonderful, with lots of eye gazing, quiet talking, and kissing. And the sex, though by no means "wild", is passionate and intense.
The second scene is even better. James Deen is annoyed with Presley Hart for taking too long to get ready for some event associated with his job. She, in turn, finds his annoyance irritating, and they have a bit of an argument—one that leads to an interesting realization on his part. And the sex is every bit as good: tender and yet passionate, and hot without being over the top. They both seem to have a great time, and she remains at a serious arousal peak throughout much of the scene.
But it is the last scene, with Dani Daniels, that is truly stunning. How many porn directors have been willing to introduce the subject of pregnancy into porn? Not many! But Mason does so here, and in a truly incredible way. We won't say more, since we don't want to ruin it for people who haven't seen it—and everyone should see it—but it is truly astonishing, and Daniels is amazing in her role. And the sex, once again, lives up to the promise of the story. It's natural, passionate, and hot as all hell.
The camera work, too, is extremely good, though better in some scenes than in others. To be sure, the women are still more the focus than the men, but they are very much present, and it is only rarely, and usually towards the end, that the men are out of frame for any extended period of time.
Scene 1: Forever In a Day (Maddy O'Reilly and Tyler Nixon, ♀♂)

They take a flight together in a helicopter, enjoying the scenery along the beaches and over the California mountains—and making out a bit in the back seat. The copter eventually lands on top of a hill, and they get out and take a walk together—somehow stumbling across a picnic basket that has been left for them. They sit down on a blanket and start kissing, and he puts a flower behind her ear. He says he wants to show her something, then walks her over to a tree and asks her to marry him. So the whole thing has been an elaborate lead-in to his proposal, which of course she accepts. They then make love on the picnic blanket.
The scenery at the beginning is beautiful, and what follows when they are on the ground is extremely romantic. It's quite a tear-jerker, in fact, and it establishes a wonderful context for what follows.
The story lasts about seven minutes, so there is about 20 minutes of sex. There is excellent chemistry between them, with lots of eye gazing, quiet talking, and kissing. The sex is passionate and intense without being "wild", and both of them seem to have a terrific time. She has several orgasms.
The camera work is excellent. She is a little more the focus than he is, but there are some truly wonderful shots when they are first fucking, intimate without being overly explicit, and highlighting the connection between them.
Scene 2: A Lonely Heart (Presley Hart and James Deen, ♀♂)

Presley and James are going out for the evening, and she is in black undies in the bathroom, doing her makeup. He comes in and asks her if she knows where his tie is, saying that they need to go, and they have a bit of an argument. She says he doesn't appreciate her, and he seems a bit stung, looking down toward the ground. He rests his forehead on hers, connecting with her, then kisses her lightly. "I thought we were going to be late", she says. "We don't even have to go", he responds, and they go make love.
It's a short interaction, but an interesting one, and it's sweet when he realizes what really matters to him.
There is great chemistry between them, and the sex is both tender and passionate. It is also a bit more varied than one often sees, at least in so far as it avoids the "suck, eat, fuck" routine. As usual, too, Deen seems very invested in his partner's pleasure, and it is great how he encourages her, cheers her on, as she approaches orgasm. She cums at least six times, some when they are fucking and some when he is eating her. The last time she cums, unusually, is after he has cum on her stomach. He puts himself back into her and masturbates her as she bucks against his hand.
The best thing about the camera work is how intimate it is. There are a lot of closeups of their faces as they make love. He is also kept in the shot a lot of the time when he would often be absent, though we do lose him some.
Scene 3: The Moment I Knew (Kimber Day and Logan Pierce, ♀♂)

He is drinking coffee, clothed, at a small table on the porch, and she comes out, wearing a robe over lingerie. She says that he seems nervous, that he tossed all night, and he tells her about a dream: he was alone, and then he woke up, and she was there. All of this leads up to his asking her to move in with him. She wanders around, excited, asking if various things are now hers. She then runs up toward the house, loosens her robe, and tells him that her body is all his. He runs up towards her and tosses her on the bed.
They are very sweet together, and there is a real sense of attraction between them. The sex is reasonably passionate, and not at all predictable, even if it isn't in any sense "wild". The only real downside here is that she seems a bit frustrated at times. She often seems as if she is about to orgasm, but never quite seems to get there. So that left us feeling a bit frustrated ourselves.
The photography is very good, with a great mix of angles. We do lose him a bit, as usual, though, once they start fucking. #
Scene 4: Crossroads (Dani Daniels and Seth Gamble, ♀♂)

We're not going to recount the story—which consumes six minutes of the video—here, because we really do not want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it. As we said above, it's about pregnancy—an unusual topic for porn, to say the least. We expect there are some people who will find it corny, but we feel sorry for them. To us it was poignant and extremely touching. Dani acts her part incredibly well, and Seth is really sweet towards her. It is easy to believe they are a couple, very much in love, and that feeling continues through the entire scene, which is romantic, sexy, and passionate, with plenty of giggling and kissing.
The sex too is extremely realistic, and it is obvious that they are genuinely attracted to each other and enjoy fucking each other. Dani has four or five orgasms, and of course Seth has his.
It's just a great video, overall. One of the best we have ever seen.
The only downside is the camera work. It is terrific in some ways. There are wider shots of their bodies, and closeups of their faces as they make love. But we lose him a little bit on a couple occasions, in the usual sorts of places, and the focus is definitely more on her, so it could be better. But he is definitely part of the scene.
