Review

Skyler (Ella Hughes) is a lingerie designer and a 'creator of possibilities'. She gets her inspiration from her friends and their desires and interests. But there is not really much of a story here. The movie is really just a collection of vignettes, the common thread being the presence of Skyler's lingerie.

There is one really good scene here, the last, a 'lesbian' scene with Ella Hughes and her assistant Maxie, played by Carly Rae. Tension is built over the first few minutes, as Maxie fills in for a model who didn't show up. The sex that follows is natural and passionate, and we think both of them cum. But there are some abrupt edits, and some of the sequences are a bit long.

The first scene, with Stella Cox and Tyler Nixon, is also pretty good. It's a sexy premise, with 'Gail' getting all hot and bothered from wearing sexy things under her corporate clothes. The second scene, with Amber Nevada and Billy King, is also quite good, with a mild BDSM feel and natural, playful sex. In both cases, though, things just never did seem quite to click. The other two scenes are by no means bad, but there was not much sense of connection between the lovers, and the sex really lacked for passion.

As for the photography...it's probably unfair that we watched this right after watching XConfessions 5 and some of the Bright Desire movies. The way Erika Lust and Ms Naughty shoot sex is proof that it can be done right. There really is no need for these tight shots on the women's bodies during intercourse, or shots from in front of her when they're spooning so you can't see him, and so forth. To be sure, Joy Bear does a better job with gender balance than most. But it could still be so much better.

There's no communication and no affection, and there doesn't seem to be much pleasure, either, especially on her part.

The photography is more like that in the second scene than like that in the first. No particular effort is made to include him when they are fucking and, as a result, he is often out of frame.
