Laura (Kaylani Lei) is stood up by her friend (Presley Hart), so heads to a nightclub by herself. Josh (Ryan Driller), who is there with his agent (Steven St Croix), sees her from across the way and is completely taken with her and so goes over to talk to her. He's stunned that she doesn't know who he is: He's a famous actor. They end up going to a diner together and hanging out on the roof of her apartment, where they make out a bit. It turns out that there is another woman, Celeste (Allison Moore), whom he is supposed to marry. The rest of the story concerns how that complication is resolved.

This is a fairly story-driven porno, with about a third of it being devoted to the story. And the story, though hardly deep, is reasonably engaging, with some striking differences from what one might expect. Broadly speaking, the story is obviously in the vein of Pretty Woman. This time, though, the main female character is a waitress, and the fate of the male character is a bit more tragic: Josh's following his heart threatens, as his agent repeatedly reminds him, his own social status. What makes the story for me, though, is the unexpectedly heroic, and loving, contribution to his future made by his finace.

So, there is a lot here that might have made an excellent porno. Unfortunately, however, the acting is very inconsistent. The interactions between Lei and Diller are very convincing and well done, and Steven St Croix is great, as usual. But there are other parts that border on bad, such as the interaction between Hart and Corvus before the first sex scene, which is really surprising, since Corvus can be so good. And the sex itself is not that great. The final scene, with Lei and Diller, is pretty good, but for the most part the sex feels, if not exactly performed, then at least pre-planned, lacking in spontaneity and any real sense of passion.

The camera work in the sex scenes, though, is excellent, with terrific gender balance and plenty shown of the male performer's face. This is especially true in the last scene. But we could have done without the standard-issue porn sex music.

We'll add, somewhat selflishly, that this was the first movie we'd seen with Xander Corvus since he got some sort of piercing below his lip. We wish he hadn't. He has a beautiful face.

She seems to get way too aroused way too fast, which makes the scene seem performed. It could be a matter of edits, though, as the action heats up very quickly. That means, as well, that there is very little foreplay. Oddly, though, it ends up getting a bit monotonous. So there could have been more editing later, and less earlier.

There's a way in which the sex feels fairly passionate, but there isn't much of a connection between them, and it ends up feeling a bit rote.

The camera work is pretty well balanced, though it is not very creative. We do see a fair bit of his face when she is sucking him, though, which is good.

Scene 2: Sarah Shevon and Steven St Croix (♀♂)

There's some sense of genuine attraction between them, but her vocalizations ("oh yeah", "mmm") are not very convincing, especially at the beginning. We had the sense that maybe she was trying too hard or something. It gets better as it goes, but then drags a bit toward the end again, as the fucking just goes on too long without any variation.

The camera work is again very good, and we see plenty of both of them, though the focus is a bit more on her when they are doggy style, and there are some more pornish shots.

Scene 3: Allison Moore and Ryan Driller (♀♂)

There's more of a sense of connection between these two than there was in the previous two scenes. But the sex still feels pre-planned, and there is little sense of passion in it. So, once again, it seems to drag toward the end, as well. And she never seems very aroused, though she does seem to have a reasonably good time.

We know it's a constant refrain: But what's with the shoes?

Scene 4: Kaylani Lei and Ryan Driller (♀♂)

Somehow, though, the scene never really lets loose, and the passion fades. Some bits seem to go on a bit longer than they really needed to, as well, as in earlier scenes.

The camera work is really, really good, with a great mix of shots. We even get a closeup of his face as she is riding him.
