Tabu Tales is a series of movies directed by Jacky St James for Digital Sin that focuses on stories about incest "fauxcest": the sexual partners are always related by marriage and never by blood. (So, for example, a woman might have sex with her stepson.) As St James herself has noted, this is a big fantasy for her. And, let's be very clear, it's a fantasy, and a very common one at that.
Except for Kinky Wedding Day, all of the films St James has made in this series are collections of vignettes. But even then there is often a pretty good amount of story-telling that precedes the sex. The production values are very high, with Eddie Powell (and, sometimes, Paul Woodcrest) handling the camera, and the acting is generally top-notch. One has a real sense when watching the best of these movies that the performers themselves are really getting into the role play and are enjoying themselves.
Unfortunately, though, we have found several of the movies in this series disappointing, especially the more recent ones, as both the sex and the photography have become increasingly pornish. It has gotten to the point that it is difficult to see much difference between the movies released in the "Tabu Tales" series and other movies in the same vein that Eddie Powell has directed for New Sensations or Digital Sin (such as My Sexy Little Niece). On a brighter note, this is true only of the "straight" films. The "lesbian" films in this series that we have seen so far have all been fantastic.
